All you will need to do is provide a sample of your urine and then the doctor will either send this to a laboratory for tests or do this in house. A test on the urine is conducted to compare the number of white blood cells with the number of red ones. An infection is normally present if the number of white blood cells is higher. You really must seek professional advice if you suspect you have a UTI. Having a UTI is not the end of the world and there are many things that you can do. Your doctor will more than likely prescribe a course of antibiotics for you and this should help but it will not always provide a permanent solution. As for natural cures, the drinking of cranberry juice is a known cure which many people believe in. You should always go for prevention rather than cure and it is vital that you thoroughly wash your genital area each and every day. Try not to keep urine in your bladder for too long a time period as this can lead to infections due to the bladder stretching and it not being completely empty after you have urinated. After sexual intercourse you must ensure that you wash thoroughly and it is also a good idea to drink lots of water and get plenty of vitamin C to further reduce the risk of infection. Remember that having urinary tract infection symptoms is not the end of the world and that there are several ways that these symptoms can be treated and it is a fact that you can eradicate UTI symptoms forever. |
